Informed Decisions?

The Community Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) made their decisions
based on an incomplete demographic study that was commissioned by
North Kitsap School District

Q: What do we mean by incomplete demographic study?

A: North Kitsap School District commissioned a demographic study that left out two major
developments that will be built in Kingston; (1) Arborwood which will have 700+ homes and,
(2) Spring Hill which will have 230-283 Townhomes.

The County makes decisions based on information the North Kitsap School District provides them, but please take a look at the photo below. This photo shows several things. It shows that NKSD is going to be growing, that by 2044 the total enrollment is expected to be 6,494 students, almost 1,500 more students than we currently have enrolled. Current enrollment is a slightly over 5000.

"Phase 1 will begin on the south end of North Kitsap Heritage Park and just across the street from White Horse Golf Club with the development of 163 single family lots. The total build out for the development will be 750 housing units ranging in 40- 60 foot lot sizes. Phases 4 and 5 show the potential for
townhomes and some multifamily residential."
