Information about the Pro and Opposition Committees
Everyone wants a great education for the students
Both the Pro and the Opposition Committees are appointed by the North Kitsap School Board.
Who is the Opposition Committee?
We are all parents of children who attended NKSD Schools. We have all been actively involved for many years; one as a former School Board Director, one a lead employee in the NKSD Maintenance Department, one a staunch supporter who helped run the pro-committees of past NKSD levies. We have followed and supported NKSD for many years. We want great funding for our students and schools. The trouble we see currently is that we voters are not being presented with great options.
Yes, we are the same group of people who opposed the last Bond publicly, and 63.56% of the voters agreed.
At the October 24, 2024 School Board meeting, a speaker said that not a single member of the public has
contributed to our campaign. Yes, this is true. We are the sole financial contributors. We have not solicited any donations, nor will we accept donations. Sound silly? We made the decision to fund this ourselves,
because we found during our work on the Bond that some people are hesitant to have their personal
information published on the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission website. For us, full reporting to the Washington PDC is a must. We are asking for full disclosure from NKSD, and we ourselves give full
disclosure. We will not hide donor information under “small contributions”. We are willing to put our own money behind what we say, we care deeply about the students and the community. We want the priority to be the Students.
